Reduction in carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions

Renault’s efforts to bring down emissions of CO2, the main greenhouse gas, include reductions in fuel consumption (through lightweight vehicle design, improved engine efficiency, etc.) and clean technologies (including biofuels and alternatives to the internal combustion engine).

For the purposes of refining its studies and conducting extremely detailed analysis of the aerodynamic behaviour of all its new models, Renault uses a brand-new next-generation windtunnel known as the S2A that can test 1:1 scale models of cars. In addition, it has ultra-silent functioning which makes it possible to take [B]acoustic measurements. These are used to detect sources of air noise arising from the body and eliminate them.[/B]

Tunelul respectiv a fost folosit la Proiectul Harmonie finalizat in dec 2006 (nu stiu insa daca a fost folosit si la precedentele Venus si Mars derulate prin '99). Rezultatele se vor vedea la Laguna III.
