with some decent equipment, in France, the price will be allround 16-17000 euro, all taxes included. The cheapest version will be somewhere allround 12-13000, still all taxes included. This is in France, I really don't know about Romania, maybe it will be cheaper (see the case of the Megane 2 RS)....at least acordingly to renault.com .

Don't get scared of those high French prices, I've seen an Italian Renault showroom in Rome this summer (2005). A Twingo costed almost 14000 Euros with all taxes (though it's an old model with four places and only two doors), and a decently equipped Clio (2, of course, at that time Clio 3 was not "born" yet) was around 16000 E. So there can be even a 3000 Euro difference in prices.

Well, 16k euros is a price at which a DECENT Clio 3 can be bought, and the top equiped version is somewhere allround 21k. The cheapest Clio 3 with all taxes, in France, is 12-13k. I have no doubt although that it will be cheaper here, due to the cheaper materials used, which will have many brake-downs and will give us the chance of filling this forum .

Well, I'm afraid you're right. I've heard that the cars brought here have many problems. Even if they don't use different materials, they might send here the cars that showed irregularities on the testing bench, in the factory (they are good at hiding these for the first 3k kilometers.) I've read on another Romanian forum ( for users of anorther French car type ) that 6 out of 10 cars brought to romania have numerous problems even during the warranty period.
Let's hope for the better. This post has been edited by cmandrei: 16 Mar 2006, 16:57 |

I forgot something and it doesn't let me edit....
Renault can keep its prices low in Romania thanks to the fact that they don't have to pay a certain tax at the border (only new cars, imported by Renault), because the company's investments at the Dacia factory. |

There is something that many people might want to know:
if the new Clio comes in march 2006, will the actual model disappear or will they be sold in paralel for some time? When does the production of Clio 2 stop? |
