All new from the wheels up, the fourth generation Seat Ibiza is the work of ex-Lamborghini stylist Luc Donckerwolke. Seat sees the new Ibiza as the most important new model in its recent history. The new Seat Ibiza will kick off Seat's product offensive, among which further Ibiza variants and the long awaited new upper-medium segment saloon and estate based on the previous generation Audi A4.

The new Seat Ibiza hopes to reinforce its position as a leader in the supermini segment with a bigger and better new generation model. The five-door hatchback comes with 'big-car' options like seven-speed DSG automatic/sequential manual gearbox, Hill Hold Assist and front fog lights with side illumination function.

The new Ibiza has grown in size and now measures 4.05 meters in length (versus 3.97 meters previously) with a 292 liter boot space with the rear seats in place. Width has grown too, thanks to its Agile Chassis the front and rear tracks are 30 mm and 33 mm wider respectively.

The front wheel drive car comes with a choice of 1.2 liter three cylinder 70hp petrol engine, 1.4 liter four cylinder 85 hp petrol engine or 1.6 liter four cylinder petrol engine producing 102 hp. All three engines are paired with a 5 speed manual gearbox. Seat has established itself in the diesel market and will in due course offer its sporty diesel engines on its supermini too.

Seat UK Peter Wyhinny commented: “The debut of the spectacular new Ibiza is the clearest sign yet that SEAT is serious about putting enviable quality and state-of-the-art technology alongside sporting ‘auto emoción’ as the cornerstones of the Brand. With the debut of this distinctive and clearly design-led five-door we are embarking on a major development of the SEAT range, with plenty more to come in the months ahead!”

Interesanta, bine ca Seat incearca sa distinga putin ibiza de celelalte modele seat, dar totusi sa ii pastreze identitatea.

What the hell happened, Seat? Cum au putut sa strice conceptul ala, care era chiar atragator? In mare sunt aceleasi linii, dar detaliile strica tot, mai ales la faruri si partea din fata. Nici interiorul nu merita vreo lauda, desi pare bine facut.

Masinuta mi se pare ok, chiar frumusica. Spatele daca e asa aduce a Fiat Bravo dar Seat-ul are alte stopuri.

Nimic special, nimic impresionant, nimic 'nou' fata de celelalte firme producatoare de masini. Opel Corsa, Ford Fiesta, Mazda 2, Grande Punto au o personalitate mult mai puternica decat aceasta masina, si in plus Seat nu face masini cu preturi spectaculoase...
Sa vedem viitorul Polo, caci fara dubiu vor avea mult in comun. Ma asteptam macar la motoare sa vad un TSI de 1.4 si 130-150 de caluti, dar se pare ca deocamdata nimic special.

Mie imi place. O consider mai frumoasa decat generatia actuala. Sper sa fi vina cu materiale de o calitate mai buna si asamblarea sa fie mai buna.
Am citit si un interviu in AMS-ul de acum cateva luni cu boss-ul cel mare de la Seat, din ce imi aduc aminte scria ca acesta vine de la Audi, in care acesta spunea, printre altele, ca se doreste construirea unei imagini de marca premium pentru Seat.
La diesel vor veni oare tot cu TDI-urile PD sau vor trece la common rail si pe diesel-urile de cilindree mica?

E clar. Si asa nu avea seat-ul preturi mici. Sa vezi acum preturi de "marca premium". wacko.gif

@aphophis: nu stiu ce vor face, se descurca ei cumva. smile.gif probabil o plasare intre vw si audi cu accent pe latura sportiva ( sportivitate si calitate la un pret mai mic decat Audi. smile.gif ).
Ideea era ca boss-ul asta mare de la seat a venit de la Audi si prin ceea ce a implementat si va implementa la Seat se doreste o crestere in calitate, fiabilitate, etc astfel incat sa pozitioneze cat mai sus Seat, spre zona premium.
Acum, tinand cont si de preturile cu care vor veni, vom vedea daca se intampla asa sau nu. pana la urma, tot noi (piata) decidem daca o masina e un succes sau nu. smile.gif

Are cineva vreo idee cu ce diesel-uri vor veni pe Ibiza? Am vazut ca la benzina au precizat clar 1.2, 1.4 si 1.6 dar la diesel nimic.

fata si spatele. astea nu imi plac. nu prea vad ce as avea de argumentat, inafara de faptul ca nu imi place. forma lor bineinteles si felul cum arata partile alea puse pe masina

Sper ca plasticul folosit e mai bun si mai placut la atingere decat cel folosit acum. actualul folosit pe usi e de 2 lei.
Capota si forma farurilor nu-mi place, parca aduce a BMW dar imi place ca au folosit acelasi stil agresiv ptr spoilerul fata.

Motoarele diesel probabil ca sunt aceleasi: 1.4 tdi si 1.9tdi. dar poate baga si cel de 2.0, mai vedem.
